Quarter Horse Research

Up Co-operative Story What We Remember Quarter Horse Research

The students researched the topic of horses using:
bulletinternet
bulletWorld Book Encyclopedia of the computer
bulletclass room books
bulletlibrary books

The following is a summary of the research they collected:

Workers that work on farms use quarter horses to separate the cows from the herd. The quarter horse is well trained to the reign and the cowboy. Quarter horses are great workers. They can cross water and climb up and down mountains. Quarter horses can run fast, stop fast, and turn fast. The reigns are attached to the horses bit.

Quarter horses were bred in America in the 1700's. Some people use quarter horses for racing because they are really fast. We see quarter horses in a western rodeo and at Picov Downs racing the track.
