What We Remember

Up Co-operative Story What We Remember Quarter Horse Research

The horse farm was in Bowmanville. It was smelly and fun. I went Mrs. K's horses. One horse was named Sky and the other was named Hawkeye. They were big, thin, brown and white in colour. The horse was very furry and he was soft. Sky was in a stall. I patted her and brushed her fur in the barn. I walked Sky around the track. She was a good horse and I was glad to walk with her. A man was putting horse shoes on the horses feet. The horse has new horse shoes. We got back to school before lunch.

I went to the horse farm. Mrs K's horse is named Sky. Sky is 18 years old. She is tall, strong, nice and funny. We combed her hair and cleaned out her hooves. A lot of dirt came out of them. She has soft shoes and they are sensitive. She sneezed on me. It was funny. She had big eyes and a bushy tail. She is quiet. I got to walk her around the indoor track. She smiled and showed us big teeth. We brushed her hair. It was full of straw. It was really neat when I walked her and I watched the blacksmith fix the feet on the horse. It was fun.

I went to the farm. I had lots of fun. I got to pet the horse. It felt soft and smooth. He moved his head. That meant hello. Sky liked when I petted her. I think Sky likes me. Sky is brown. He has white on his nose and his forehead. I had fun walking Sky. Mrs. K. is lucky to have Sky.

I went to Mrs. K's horse farm on Thursday. The weather was warm and sunny. Mrs. K's horse's names are Sky and Hawkeye. I walked with Sky and Mrs. K. I brushed Sky and when she says hello, she nods up and down. The only way to get Sky to walk is to say 'cluck, cluck' and slowly pull the rope. The way to stop Sky is to say 'whoa' and pull on the rope. I had fun at the horse farm!

I went to see Mrs. K's horses. They live on a small farm. Their names are Hawkeye and Sky. I brushed Sky's hairy mane and he said hi by looking at me. We fed Hawkeye some small, fresh carrots. Then we let Sky out of the fence. We cleaned Sky's hooves. We walked Sky before we went back to school. We had a great time.

We went to Mrs. K's horse farm. We saw a horse named Sky. He was a big brown and white horse. He had a big belly and we brushed him. Sky was very gentle. There was another horse there and his name was Hawkeye. We fed him some carrots.

We saw an orange cat and a small dog. We led Sky, the horse, around the track. It was fun! We saw the blacksmith putting shoes on a white horse. It was interesting. Then it was time to go back to school. We had a good morning.
