EthnoCultural Celebration

"In a world darkened by ethnic conflicts that tear nations apart,
Canada stands as a model of how people of different Cultures
can live and work together in Peace, Prosperity, and Mutual Respect."

USA President Bill Clinton in a 1995
House of Commons Address.

The map and the quote above was found and borrowed from this wonderful and patriotic site Cool Canuck Take the time to visit this wonderful site that highlights what a terrific country we live in.

An Overview of the Site

Folktales - We read and listened to some folktales and retold them back to teachers and friends and drew pictures of our favourite parts.

Traditional Dress - This page shows a few of the cultures' traditional dress.

Community Partners and Cultural Links - Our community partners helped us by giving us pictures to look at and information. We also went on the internet to visit some culture links.

The students from Mrs. McAuley's grade 4/5 class designed, drew, painted and labeled this map of Canada. The borders on each side represent the flag of Canada. The border is decorated with our national symbol - the Maple Leaf.
