Canada's Schoolnet Grassroots Program . . .
The SchoolNet GrassRoots Program, together with its provincial, territorial and corporate partners, promotes academic, employability and computer skills in Canadian youth by integrating information and communication technology into learning. The GrassRoots Program offers funding to schools for the creation of innovative and interactive learning projects on the Internet that :
foster
the acquisition of academic, employability and computer skills
in Canadian youth
build
unique and relevant Canadian content on the Internet

| facilitate
increased connectivity and training opportunities. | |
GrassRoots projects are initiated, designed and implemented by the teacher and students, are curriculum relevant and focus on learning activities carried out using the Internet. Students seek out online resources and carry out collaborative activities that result in a final report or product that is put online.
